Sí a la Vida is a Nicaraguan non-profit corporation that receives no money from the Nicaraguan government and is totally dependent on international aid -- except for revenue received by selling plantains from its Ometepe farm and selling handcrafted friendship bracelets (pulseras) woven by the boys. There are four international groups that provide support to Sí a la Vida, and each of the four groups receives its funds primarily if not exclusively from donations by individuals. The principal entity is Amigos de Sí a la Vida. Amigos de Sí a la Vida provides financial support and material support such as clothing, recruits and screens potential volunteers, and provides technical assistance. The other three groups -- based in Canada, Germany, and Spain -- primarily provide financial support.
